The River Ambassador Program (RAP) is an environmental focused volunteer youth group in Lowell, Massachusetts.

Our mission is to learn more about environmental health concerns in our region, educate others in the community about those issues, and to take action whenever possible to improve our environment.

We believe that we can make a difference in Lowell by drawing on the positive energy of youth to serve the community and by providing worth-while activities for teens. RAP strives to build a strong relationship with the community through interaction that will increase the community's recognition of, and respect for youth/teens as role models.

RAP is sponsored by the Center for Family, Work and Community (CFWC). The CFWC is an outreach arm of the UMass-Lowell.. At the CFWC we work to bring faculty, staff,
and students together with community partners to solve long- standing problems in the region. All of these activities-- whether they focus on families, schools, communities, environment, or the workplace--emphasize partnerships.
